Website redesign and development, communications
Creating a successful online business from a website with no staff and multiple suppliers takes some thinking. Lookat.co.nz is New Zealand’s cheapest online stationery company that uses multiple suppliers and holds no stock to help customers get the cheapest prices. When an order is placed it gets divided up and sent off to as many as seven different suppliers, who then fill the order and deliver it to the customer through Lookat.co.nz.
Operating for over five years, LookAt was struggling for brand recognition, growth and dealing with an eCommerce site which wasn’t up to the task. They needed a comprehensive strategy to get all the parts of their system working in synch and start getting some market share.

What we did
It became pretty apparent early on LookAt needed a completely new website. The front-end needed a revamp to appeal to customers and give LookAt a more visible presence, while the back-end needed a complete overhaul. We built an eCommerce platform that automatically notified suppliers when they had an order, was easier to navigate for suppliers when filling orders, and automatically notified customers about their order status.
We also constructed a CRM system that allowed Lookat.co.nz to target their existing customers with offers which were relevant to them, as well as attract new customers through targeted mailouts.
Creative & Design
We helped LookAt develop a strategy to give their brand a fresh, unique look and feel, and designed the new look to represent that new brand. We then completely redesigned their user interface to make the sales experience easier and more enjoyable for the customer.
We devised a social media strategy for LookAt and administered it to maximise the interaction the brand was able to get. With a limited advertising budget, we decided to focus on their existing customer database through beautifully designed eDMs, promoting their products and building a loyal customer base.
After just one month of the new site going live, LookAt.co.nz more than doubled their revenue.
The time users spent on the site increased by 20%, and the number of products they viewed rose 25%. And after six months LookAt has maintained a sales increase of 50%, smashing the last five years of sales records.
They have a loyal customer base who interact with the brand over Facebook and through email. LookAt brand is firmly re-established in the market and the business is reaping the benefits of being able to run a complex order and supply system automatically, with very little work needed to keep it running smoothly.
